So today’s #MotivationMonday is dedicated to Super Athlete, Dana Vollmer 🏊🏼
While watching the Olympic swimming last night a short snippet came on about her. She shared about how between last Olympics and these Olympics she had a baby boy. But she also shared that being pregnant was not what she expected it to be, that she gained 50 pounds, and that she was on bed rest for 7.5 weeks, and yet here she is competing in the most elite sports competition in the world just 17 months later!
This spoke very strongly to me!
I have wanted to be pregnant for so many years now, I LOVE this journey and I am amazed at what my body can do, but pregnancy changes have definitely taken me by surprise on many occasions and it’s not what I imagined it to be.
I’ve gained more weight than I thought I would, I have lost more flexibility than I thought I would, I have more aches and pains than I thought I would, and I’ve struggled with eating more than I thought I would.
But seeing someone like Dana Vollmer experiencing similar struggles and yet still being able to fight her way back to world class level was incredibly motivating and reminded me that my body is doing what it needs to do right now, but all of this is just temporary.
We all experience things in a different way, none are right or wrong, better or worse, they just are what they are. But know that there is always someone whom your story might help. Don’t be scared to share your journey. Be genuine. Be real. Be You!
Time for me to crack open my new Country Heat workouts!! 💃🏻💪🏼
What motivates you this Monday to be the best version of you?
