Today I will do what others won’t

In 2005 I was in a car accident that left me with a totaled car, bleeding toes, a missing earring, and a badly damaged right shoulder. After years of doctors appointment, meetings with lawyers, a long drawn out court case (I was not at fault), and much pain and discomfort, I look at how far I have come and am amazed at the power and resilience of the human body.

I am absolutely not anything special. I didn’t always have a very happy or positive outlook going through all that. It felt like my career had been stripped away from me, the thing I was most passionate about had turned into a struggle rather than a joy.

Today my shoulder has been acting up (it happens from time to time). It is aching and irritating me, and I just can’t get comfortable. So I decided to hop on my yoga mat for some PiYo and Strala.

Getting fit, healthy, and strong has not only helped change my outlook on life, it has allowed me to do things I never dreamed possible – especially considering that 10 years ago I couldn’t even raise my right arm to wash my own hair.

I didn’t think I would ever be balancing on heads and hands and shoulders and arms… but if I can change my body, if I can take back my career, if I can change the outcome of my life, anyone can! You just have to get up and DO something.

What are you doing today that your future self will thank you for?

Do what others won't so you can have what others can't
