Want your skin to Gleam in Twenty Fifteen?

Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on expensive exfoliating scrubs that often have questionable ingredients in them, you can easily make your own that are just as effective, if not more so.  These recipes can be customized however you want, so go ahead and get creative.

Here are two great home remedies to wash away that dry Wintery skin, and leave you with soft, smooth, glowing skin any time of year!

Lemon Rosemary Salt ScrubRelaxing Facial

Lavender Facial Scrub

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. Vitamin E oil (or olive oil)
  • 3-4 drops lavender oil

Mix ingredients together well.
Gently rub only face in circular motion.
Let sit for a few minutes (5-10 minutes is long enough).
Rinse off with warm water.

Note: Baking soda is a wonderful natural remedy for acne!

Full Body Salt Scrub

Lemon Rosemary Salt Scrub

  • ⅓ cup salt (Epsom salt, or Sea salt)
  • lemon zest of ½ a lemon (I added a few drops lemon oil as well)
  • 10 drops Rosemary oil
  • Pour ¼ cup olive oil over top.

Here’s why it works: The salts naturally soften skin and scrub away dead skin cells, while Epsom salt is also known for reducing inflammation and relaxing muscles. The olive oil helps keep skin moist, but not oily. The essential oils and herbs can be tailored to your preference, and can be used to promote different health and healing benefits.

Gently mix ingredients together, and scrub away in the shower.
The scrub will keep for up to 6 months in an airtight container.
Happy Scrubbing!
